About the position
Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Sr. Java/AWS Developer with at least 8+ years' experience in developing high-performing, scalable enterprise applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver valuable software solutions while ensuring code quality and maintainability. The position emphasizes mentorship, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team, contributing to the overall success of client projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of software solutions using AWS and Java, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project specifications and requirements.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and propose their adoption where beneficial to our projects.
- Ensure the security of our applications by integrating best-in-class security practices.
- Optimize existing systems for improved performance and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as they arise.
- Provide technical leadership in the planning and execution of projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a software engineer with a strong background in AWS and Java.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to mentor and lead a team of junior engineers.
- Passion for technology and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the Payer domain is advantageous but not mandatory.
