About the position

The Sr. Java Backend Developer role is focused on developing and maintaining backend services using Java and AWS technologies. This position requires a strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-based application development. The developer will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with teams to deliver scalable APIs and platforms while adhering to Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java and AWS technologies.
• Implement service-oriented architecture (SOA) patterns and develop microservices.
• Build and deliver scalable APIs for consumption at scale.
• Ensure security best practices in application development, including authentication and authorization.
• Utilize cloud services, particularly AWS, to build applications and understand core services.
• Write code for serverless applications using AWS services like EC2, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Work with cloud databases and NoSQL concepts, including caching solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications on the cloud.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in Java and understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with Agile SDLC methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with service implementation using SOA patterns.
• Previous experience building scalable APIs and platforms.
• Solid grasp of security concepts such as JWT, SSL, and OAuth 2.0.
• Familiarity with cloud databases like DynamoDB and Aurora.
