About the position

The Sr. Java Developer - Backend position at Macro Solutions involves leading back-end development efforts for federal projects, focusing on user experience and client satisfaction. The role requires extensive experience in Java and Spring Boot technologies, with responsibilities including application development, maintenance, and providing Tier 3 support for public-facing applications.

Responsibilities

• Support Mission Critical complex large scale application development and maintenance activities.
• Provide subject matter expertise in back-end development.
• Provide Tier 3 support for public facing applications.
• Design and develop quick prototypes.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Java development, mainly focused on back-end development.
• 3+ years of recent experience in Spring Boot.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Subject matter expert in back-end development.
• Experience in J2EE technologies.
• Experience with SQL Server databases, Stored Procedures, and SSIS Packages.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, ANT, Maven, and other build scripts.
• Knowledgeable of the SDLC, design patterns, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure Cloud and Cloud.Gov environment.
• Experience with Application servers like TOMCAT, WebLogic, JBoss.
• Full stack development experience.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Microsoft TFS.
• Knowledge of IT governance and operations.
