About the position

The Sr Java Developer with Market Risk is a senior-level position responsible for leading applications systems analysis and programming activities. This role involves collaborating with management teams to integrate functions, resolve complex business problems, and ensure application design aligns with the overall architecture. The developer will also provide expertise in applications programming, develop coding standards, and mentor mid-level developers while ensuring compliance with regulations and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals and identify necessary system enhancements.
• Resolve high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes and system processes.
• Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Provide in-depth analysis to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role.
• Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer.
• Proficient in Java and front-end technologies like React.
• Understanding of finance/market risk.
• Knowledge of design patterns and coding principles including test-driven development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.
