About the position

The Sr Java Developer will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining web applications for an insurance client, focusing on creating a new agent-facing platform and enhancing an existing one. This position requires extensive experience in backend Java development, particularly with the Spring framework, and will be performed within an Agile team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications for insurance agents.
• Collaborate with team members to create a new agent-facing platform.
• Enhance existing platforms to meet evolving needs.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with security controls and SOX requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development.
• Expertise in backend development with Java and SpringBoot.
• Experience with SOAP or REST web services and APIs.
• Proficient in SQL, XML or JSON, and Postgres.
• Experience with OAuth.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Understanding of security controls and SOX requirements.
• Auto insurance industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or Typescript.

Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate of $55/hr to $67/hr on contract or $100,000 - $110,000/year when converted to full-time.
