About the position

The Sr Java Developer role involves supervising and developing software to ensure the delivery of initiatives for specific applications or application groups. This position requires collaboration with business leaders and architects to provide implementation solutions, create prototypes, and document application states. The developer will also enhance, test, support, maintain, and debug software applications while providing strategic technical direction and system architecture for initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with line of business and architects to provide implementation solutions for software applications.
  • Create prototypes to prove design concepts and document the current and future states of applications.
  • Develop, enhance, test, support, maintain, and debug software applications that support business units or functions.
  • Assist senior business leaders and management as a senior member of the technical team.
  • Provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
  • Recommend innovations that enhance or provide a competitive advantage to the organization based on technological alternatives and business system requirements.
  • Lead or estimate effort for software applications for one or more programmers.
  • Coordinate collaboration with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget.
  • Provide feedback and technical guidance to project managers on critical issues affecting business objectives.
  • Be recognized as a content expert by peers.

Requirements

  • Over 9+ years of hands-on experience in developing mission-critical, large-scale, high-volume enterprise and distributed applications using Java/J2EE.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented design and programming skills with Java.
  • Knowledge of using one or multiple J2EE application servers.
  • Strong experience in Java development of RESTful Services using the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and SOAP Webservices.
  • Experience with Oracle Stored Procedures and designing tables.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka for online data publishing and consuming.
  • Experience in Junit Test cases development, Performance Testing, Optimization, and Code analysis.
  • Experience using Relational Oracle SQL/PLSQL and NoSQL distributed Cassandra DB Technologies.
  • Strong experience with development tools like Eclipse/IntelliJ IDEs, Maven, GIT, Bit Bucket, CI/CD pipelines, Splunk, and SOAP UI.
  • Experience in building high-volume, scalable, available, and distributed technologies.
  • Experience with standard development design patterns of Creational, Behavioral, and JEE.
  • Experience handling cross-functional issues by coordinating with distributed development teams across regions.
  • Experience with development models such as Agile and SDLC, and knowledge of test-driven development.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment to meet release deliverables.

  • AI and Machine Learning experience.
  • Experience in the Financial Domain on Online Banking and Fraud prevention detection using Machine Learning and Big Data Processing Technologies.
