About The Position

We are seeking a Sr. LabVIEW Developer to design, engineer, program and implement National Instruments (NI) systems associated with distributed control, real time control, testing and data acquisition systems. The role involves designing, programming, and documenting distributed control and acquisition projects from concept to completion using National Instruments software and hardware, including PXIe, RIO, DAQ architectures. The developer will also be responsible for developing modular, readable and reusable LabVIEW code ensuring reliability, longevity and emphasizing continual improvement. Additional responsibilities include developing engineering tools, integrating complex FPGA code into Hardware In the Loop (HIL) systems, and troubleshooting new electromechanical test systems.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with advanced LabVIEW programming in a scientific, industrial or research environment.
• Successful development of projects from concept to completion.
• Technical experience with National Instruments hardware, PXIe, RIO, DAQ.
• Experience in HIL/MIL software architecture.
• Experience developing real-time/non real-time test applications in LabVIEW.
• Expert in electromechanical test and test automation.
• Familiarity with standard test equipment and acquisition.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming.
• Experience with Git or other source control platforms.
• Experience in writing device drivers for 3rd party hardware.
• Experience interfacing with large database systems, SQL.
• Networking using Ethernet, EtherNet/IP, and other industrial protocols.
• Interest in large science or R&D projects.
• Experience with integration of software and hardware in a high voltage or high current environment.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) workflow.
• Experience with software programming of safety systems.
• Experience with testing of high-power equipment, i.e. motors, power electronics.
• Experience with electric vehicle technology.
• Experience with automotive communication protocols and tools, including CAN, PCAN, CANape, NI-XNET, Ethernet.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell and SQL scripting.

Responsibilities
