At Sierra Space, we envision a future where humanity lives and works in space, on moons, and on distant planets. Our mission isn't restricted to the few; instead, we see a future where all people can choose to live, work, discover, and explore beyond our planet. As a Sr Launch Vehicle Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in this mission by utilizing your skills and expertise to define, design, simulate, integrate, test, certify, and support cutting-edge products and services. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from state-of-the-art mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and orbital space exploration systems. In this position, you will be responsible for designing systems that meet demanding customer requirements, developing and building complex systems integration labs to verify designs, and integrating various systems to create a seamless product for the customer. As a cross-functional engineer, you will perform system and component-level integration of new products and develop new integration processes throughout the product lifecycle. You will also be tasked with generating and verifying interface requirements between the Sierra Space designated spacecraft and multiple launch vehicles, including the Vulcan, H3, Glenn, Falcon Heavy, Starship Super Heavy, Neutron, Terran R, Ariane 6, and other emerging launch service providers. Your essential knowledge will include understanding various engineering disciplines necessary for coordination between Sierra Space and the launch vehicle contractor design teams. This includes environmental factors such as shock, vibration, acoustic, thermal, venting, gas velocity impingement, contamination, and mechanical/electrical ground support equipment. You will coordinate the distribution and configuration management of integrated system analyses inputs/outputs across diverse technical areas, including dynamic environments, control dynamics, structural dynamics, aero-physics, thermal, avionics, and mission design trajectory and performance. Additionally, you will support the development of test plans and execution for risk reduction and requirement verification of spacecraft and launch vehicle hardware interfaces.
