About the position
The Sr Lead, Cyber Security Engineer (API Platforms) at Northern Trust is responsible for developing and administering solutions that ensure system expectations related to scalability, performance, fault tolerance, usability, and data integrity. This role involves managing the API Gateway with additional security controls, solving complex problems, and providing guidance to colleagues. The position requires a strong background in information security and risk management, along with excellent communication and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Develops and administers solutions that meet system expectations.
- Manages the API Gateway with additional security control.
- Solves complex problems and takes new perspectives on existing solutions.
- Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and related teams.
- Works within broad guidelines and policies.
Requirements
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
- In-depth understanding of information security and Risk Management Framework.
- Experience in a highly regulated environment, specific experience with FFIEC, OSFI, PCI-DSS, SOX preferred.
- Experience leading projects that required managing risks and resource requirements.
- Information Security Certification / Accreditation preferred, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Cisco, SANS, etc.
- Developer background, general coding, web development & APIs, and web services.

- In-depth understanding of network management, operating systems, software development, database systems, and information technology.
