About the position

As a Lead Data Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Workforce Technology division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data architecture solutions that support various software applications utilizing modern cloud-based technologies. This position is designed for individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. You will collaborate with a team of imaginative thinkers, working together to deliver premier solutions that set new standards in the industry. Your contributions will be essential in developing high-quality data architecture solutions that align with project goals and business functions. In this role, you will engage with technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose data architecture approaches that meet both current and future needs. You will define the target state of data architecture for your product and drive the achievement of strategic objectives. Participation in data architecture governance bodies will be a key responsibility, where you will evaluate recommendations and provide feedback on new technologies. Your ability to execute creative data architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting will be crucial, as you will need to think beyond conventional approaches to build effective solutions and resolve technical challenges. You will also be responsible for developing secure, high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code written by others, and identifying opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance the operational stability of software applications and systems. Facilitating evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams will be part of your duties, as you drive outcomes through probing data architectural designs and technical credentials. Additionally, you will lead data architecture communities of practice to promote awareness and utilization of modern data architecture technologies, while fostering a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for data delivery architectures
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and one or more programming languages
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more software, application, and architecture disciplines
