About the position

Lumen is seeking a multi-cloud architect leader to join the Platform Engineering team, which is pivotal in advancing the company's Cloud footprint. This role involves designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that integrate various cloud infrastructures, ensuring smooth application operations across multiple environments. The selected candidate will also provide technical direction, mentor team members, and support legacy technologies while planning migrations to cloud vendors such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and operational support for both legacy and strategic Cloud technologies.
• Document and provide architecture guidance to project and application teams.
• Develop automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Create and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
• Mentor and cross-train team members on existing and new technologies.
• Execute special tasks as directed by management.
• Participate in the team's on-call support rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience with typically 8+ years in Enterprise-level support and design experience.
• Strong experience in operations and application administration & design.
• Proven large-enterprise experience with Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP; certifications are a plus.
• Ability to liaise with executive management and Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Experience with Kubernetes/Rancher, automation/scripting, Unix scripting, Terraform, Windows scripting (PowerShell/VBScript), and GitHub.
• Familiarity with middleware technologies (WebSphere/WebLogic/Tomcat/Apache/etc).
