About the position

The Sr. Learning & Development Specialist at Thomas & Hutton is responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating training and development programs to enhance employee skills, improve performance, and drive growth. This role involves assessing the training needs of employees, designing training programs, coordinating training delivery, and managing the Learning Management System (LMS). The position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to employee development within a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training and development needs of employees.
  • Partner with department leaders to align training programs with business goals.
  • Determine the best approach to achieve identified training needs and leverage existing resources.
  • Identify potential external training partners and facilitate the selection process.
  • Develop and customize training content for different departments or roles.
  • Coordinate all aspects of internal training programs and facilitate training sessions.
  • Manage and coordinate external training providers to meet organizational standards.
  • Support and coach internal managers in delivering on-the-job training.
  • Develop and manage career development initiatives in partnership with HR.
  • Provide coaching and support to employees for achieving career goals.
  • Design and create learning paths that align with roles and career paths.
  • Maintain and update learning content within the LMS and manage access to training resources.
  • Track and analyze user engagement and progress within the learning platform.
  • Produce detailed reports on learning outcomes and training program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, education, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in training and development.
  • Professional HR certification is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficient in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training-related software.
  • Ability to analyze data and assess training needs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
