About the position

Peraton is seeking a senior-level Cloud Engineer to join a team of Platform Engineers. In this role, you will be building environments using DevSecOps industry standard technologies such as Kubernetes and/or AWS EKS and will be proficient in Docker and/or Podman. You'll also be developing CI/CD pipelines to facilitate deployments to these environments. Therefore, a strong background in software development in Linux environments is preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong working background in developing and operating cloud-based infrastructure for Government clients. They will also have experience deploying and debugging, systems administration, container management and orchestration, scripting & automation skills, and fundamental understanding of DevSecOps concepts. This position is based out of Melbourne, FL and will require the applicant to be within a commutable distance to provide on-site support. As a Cloud Engineer, you will use your experience to formulate and implement automation solutions to support application and systems monitoring in an AWS cloud-based system. You will provide DevSecOps support for the implementation and maintenance of Dev, Test and Production Linux environments. Additional responsibilities will include, but not limited to: DevSecOps oriented software engineer experienced with DevSecOps industry standard technologies and cloud environments. You will design cloud architecture and complete plans and specifications to develop solutions. Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps, containerized application design, performance monitoring and optimization, high availability, disaster recovery, data infrastructure, and security will be required. You will be responsible for monitoring system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization. Collaborating with product managers and engineers to develop specifications for new cloud-based products/services, applications, and solutions will also be part of your role. You will design, build and deploy containerized software solutions, maintain CI/CD pipelines and processes for automating deployments, and develop software applications in an Agile environment. Additionally, you will design and develop Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.; AA/AS degree and 14 years' experience; in lieu of degree, 16 years of related experience is allowable.
  • A current/valid Security+ certification (or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT II Level Certification) or ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of hire.

Benefits
