About the position

Infosys is seeking a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer who possesses a strong background in DevOps and virtualization technologies. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation and integration of various systems within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting the infrastructure that underpins our applications, with a focus on Linux systems and OpenShift integration. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service management processes established with clients. The Senior Linux DevOps Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy applications in Linux environments, utilizing Kubernetes and Docker within OpenShift. The role demands hands-on experience in platform engineering, configuration, maintenance, and provisioning of these technologies. The candidate will also be expected to manage CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery processes. Strong scripting skills in languages such as Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Ruby, or Power CLI are essential for automating tasks and improving operational efficiency. In addition to technical skills, the role requires excellent communication abilities, as the engineer will engage in stakeholder calls and collaborate with various teams. The position may involve travel within the U.S., and candidates must be located within commuting distance of Atlanta, GA, Raleigh, NC, or Charlotte, NC, or be willing to relocate. Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Linux systems and OpenShift integration.
  • Deploy applications in Linux environments using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Maintain and provision infrastructure as a service.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • Engage in service management processes established with clients.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and participate in calls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Linux administration.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift system integration and cloud technologies.
  • Skilled in platform engineering, configuration, maintenance, and provisioning of Kubernetes/Docker in OpenShift.
  • Proficient scripting skills in Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Ruby, or Power CLI.
  • Experience in engineering and supporting application infrastructure.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines management, administration, and support.
  • Good communication skills and engagement in stakeholder calls.

Nice-to-haves

  • SRE experience is preferred.
  • Experience in disaster recovery testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of OpenShift - Kubernetes, especially OpenShift 4.x and GitOps experience.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
  • Desire to work in a global delivery environment.
  • Planning and coordination skills.
