About the position

The position of Sr. Linux System Administrator at ManTech in Laurel, Maryland, is crucial for overseeing the Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) services that form the backbone of MPO's operations. This role involves working closely with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT solutions, ensuring that the infrastructure is robust and capable of supporting various missions. As a Sr. Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and administering virtualized platforms using VMWare. Your expertise will be essential in building, installing, and configuring infrastructure-related software. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting higher-level problems and resolving complex technical issues, particularly in scenarios where documentation may be lacking or non-existent. Analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the systems operate efficiently and effectively. This position requires a strong background in systems engineering, with a minimum of 14 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required, although additional experience may be substituted for formal education. The role also requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, highlighting the sensitive nature of the work involved. Physical requirements include the ability to perform light work, handle stress, and maintain effective communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 14 years' experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Understanding of networking components is desired.
