About the position

The Sr. Linux Systems Administrator role at Lockheed Martin involves managing and supporting various IT systems in an agile environment, with a focus on Linux system administration. The position requires relocation to Guam for 6-12 months and includes a month of training in either King of Prussia, PA or Littleton, CO. The role is critical in ensuring the security and efficiency of IT operations, particularly in the context of radio frequency mission solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various IT systems in an agile scrum environment.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Patch and harden Linux RedHat OS and collaborate with security personnel to protect against cyber threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with 5 years of professional experience, or 3 years with a Master's degree, or equivalent experience/education.
  • Advanced professional experience with Linux system administration.
  • Experience in software practices and configuration management.
  • Scripting experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • RedHat OS patching/hardening experience.
  • Experience with RedHat OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with AWX.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, team environment.
  • Agile development experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • Linux Certifications.
  • Experience with cloud migrations and CI/CD tools.
