About the position

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer at AWS Field Experiences (AFX) is responsible for developing AI-driven software tools that enhance the capabilities of field teams, driving revenue and opportunities for AWS. This role involves innovating system architectures using generative AI and traditional machine learning methods, collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers, and mentoring others in AI technology.

Responsibilities

• Innovate system architectures that use Large Language Models (LLMs) and other forms of generative AI as building blocks
• Leverage diverse data sources to maximize business impact through ML and AI methods
• Design and develop end-to-end, robust, and scalable pipelines for data preparation, model training, deployment, and monitoring
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product partners to deliver intelligent, feature-rich software products
• Mentor and educate colleagues and customers about AI technology and its impact on knowledge work.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
