About the position

The Sr. Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing all phases of plant maintenance to ensure safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective production of quality products. This role involves supervising maintenance activities, implementing safety programs, and driving efficiency improvements within the maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all Shop and E&I Maintenance activities.
  • Complete employee evaluations and resolve employee problems and disciplinary issues in accordance with the Union contract.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive safety program in the assigned area.
  • Determine staffing needs and plan for staff development and training based on skills assessment.
  • Work with maintenance planning and operations to maximize productivity and improve schedule attainment.
  • Provide guidance to maintenance staff to resolve problems and promote accountability.
  • Conceive and implement cost containment and improvement initiatives, including capital and expense reduction.

Requirements

  • 7+ years relevant work experience.
  • BS degree preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in a supervisory/management position.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of process equipment operation and applications.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of piping/electrical systems, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of the budgeting process in a plant environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and local/state regulations concerning plant operation and construction.
  • Knowledge of labor laws.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to visualize the Big Picture while focusing on details.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Computer literacy with routine applications and problem-solving software.
