About the position
The position involves working as a Stationary Engineer, performing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on various equipment, buildings, and utility systems. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical background and a Stationary Engineer License. Responsibilities include maintaining records of materials and jobs, responding to critical equipment alarms, and performing repairs on utility systems equipment such as pumps, valves, and compressors. The role also requires water quality analysis and coordination of regulatory inspections. The candidate will engage in collaborative efforts with team members and communicate with customers regarding service deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on various equipment and utility systems.
- Maintain records of materials, jobs, and other pertinent information.
- Respond to and triage critical equipment alarms and make necessary repairs.
- Repair and maintain utility systems equipment, including pumps, valves, and steam systems.
- Notify management of all recognized equipment repairs.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with team members from all craft shops.
- Communicate with team members to identify needs for improvement.
- Conduct water quality analysis and record data.
- Coordinate regulatory inspections by external agencies.
- Inspect contracted work to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and submit reports.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Investigate outages.
- Respond to customer calls and provide customer services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in one or more crafts (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation).
- Stationary Engineer License.
- Mechanical background including experience with pumps, valves, motors, and water testing.
