About the position
The Senior Maintenance Technician role at Belcan in Bloomfield, CT, involves providing maintenance support for Automated Guidance Vehicles (AGVs) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as part of a long-term maintenance contract. The position requires a blend of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, with a focus on preventative maintenance and equipment testing to ensure operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance of AGVs and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including calibrating sensors, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, hydraulics troubleshooting, etc.
- Completes preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
- Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry (5V to 480V).
- Create and close work orders into asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
- Troubleshoot AGV problems and understand resources needed to resolve them.
- Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
- Performs complex maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.
- Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.
- Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organizations.
Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or vocational technical training preferred; Specialized skill training/certification preferred.
- 3+ years of Electrical troubleshooting skills to include wiring, ac power, ac motors, electrical drawings/schematics, and control panels.
- Knowledge of automated equipment; preferably automated material handling systems.
- Some experience with DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, Ethernet, or equivalent network communications is a plus.
- Must be able to evaluate and analyze semi-complex system/equipment performance data, perform root cause analysis, and recommend resolution of design-performance issues.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
