About the position

The Sr. Manager, Accounting at L3Harris is responsible for leading and directing accounting professionals, ensuring the accuracy of financial results, and managing general ledger activities. This role involves significant process improvements, operational planning, and compliance with government audits, all while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage transactional accounting and general ledger accounting staff.
  • Oversee general ledger activity with a focus on accuracy of financial results.
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and policy/procedure updates.
  • Establish operational plans with measurable contributions to job function results.
  • Provide input on new products, processes, or standards impacting overall functional results.
  • Support government compliance in audits and analytics of data and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, or 13 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7 years or more experience with Costpoint, SAP, Hyperion, and Government Accounting Contracts.
  • 7 years or more experience communicating with leadership regarding important matters, including conducting briefings with senior leaders.
  • 7 years or more experience working independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Governmental Accounting experience preferred.
  • GAAP Compliance knowledge.
  • FPRP/Incurred Cost Claim/Overhead Rate experience preferred.
  • FAR knowledge preferred.
  • General Ledger experience required.
  • Payroll and Accounts Payable Management Experience.
  • Government Billing Experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
