About the position

The Sr. Manager, Accounts Receivable is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable processes, ensuring the fiscal integrity of the company's receivables, and managing a team to achieve business objectives. This role involves preparing and presenting analytics to senior management, coordinating with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with GAAP for revenue recognition. The position also focuses on improving departmental efficiencies and developing staff capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity of the Accounts Receivable System and weekly sub-ledger posting to the general ledger.
  • Manage staff, including hiring, training, coaching, counseling, performance appraisals, discipline, and termination in accordance with HR policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors on accounts receivable matters and miscellaneous revenue programs.
  • Ensure contract revenue is recognized according to GAAP and company policy for accurate revenue recognition and timely collection.
  • Develop, document, and enforce accounts receivable, cash application, and promotional program accounting procedures.
  • Continuously improve accounts receivable processes, leveraging technology as appropriate.
  • Work with accounts receivable supervisor and management to maximize collection opportunities and reduce inaccurate billing.
  • Prepare and present analytics to senior management regarding accounts receivable performance.
  • Conduct financial statement analysis to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control factors.
  • Ability to analyze contracts and legal documents for revenue recording compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and set performance goals for self and team members.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and query tools.
