About the position

The Sr. Manager, Actuarial & Analytics, CMP at Travelers is responsible for leading actuarial support for the Business Insurance (BI) Travelers BOP 2.0 (CMP) Product. This role involves managing the common rating algorithm, enhancing Point-of-Sale benchmark models, and overseeing month-end Restatement reporting and performance metrics. The position requires collaboration with various teams to improve profitability and achieve production goals, while also providing analytical insights and recommendations to leadership and business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of assigned initiatives and projects.
  • Develop solutions to resolve challenges of initiatives.
  • Propose changes and innovations to improve project performance and timelines.
  • Perform actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems.
  • Drive day-to-day execution within the unit and support broad department initiatives.
  • Translate business requests into analytical solutions and provide support for enterprise initiatives.
  • Communicate analysis and project results to staff, peers, and business partners.
  • Manage talent acquisition, retention, and development for the unit.
  • Mentor less experienced talent and support training initiatives.

Requirements

  • College degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Associate Actuarial Credential preferred.
  • Strong PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (e.g., SQL, SAS).
  • 5+ years of quantitative analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
  • Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.
  • Management experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leading project teams of actuarial & analytic partners.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical analyses and actuarial methods.
