About The Position

As a Senior Manager in Avionics Hardware Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team responsible for the design, development, and integration of custom electronics for our Terran R rocket. This position is not just about managing a team; it’s about shaping the future of aerospace technology and contributing to our vision of creating humanity's industrial base on Mars. The Avionics team is at the heart of our operations, overseeing the full lifecycle of all electronics and supporting hardware that are crucial for the successful operation of our rockets. This includes designing and building hardware that controls the rocket during flight, downlinks critical telemetry, and ensures the safety of the public while deploying customer payloads into orbit. As a leader, you will guide your team through the entire product lifecycle, from initial design and board bring-up to design verification, qualification, and integration into vehicle operations. Your leadership will be essential in making informed decisions that impact the overall vehicle performance and reliability. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in electronics design, particularly in harsh environments and mission-critical applications. You will mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and best practices. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be vital as you work alongside mechanical, thermal, electrical, and software engineers to develop integrated electronics solutions that meet the rigorous demands of space travel.
