As a Senior Manager of Business Operations at Comcast, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial planning process and overseeing the profitability of both existing and new business operations. This position requires a comprehensive analysis of profitability variances, along with the development of actionable recommendations for corrective measures. You will be responsible for establishing financial and operational objectives that align with the overall business goals, contributing significantly to the functional strategy development. Your impact on business results will be substantial, as you will typically manage one or more groups of professional employees, guiding them towards achieving the company's financial targets. In this role, you will develop and manage the analysis of actual results against planned objectives, presenting data in a clear and logical format to facilitate management's decision-making process. You will oversee the preparation of presentations to management regarding actual results, budgets, forecasts, and other financial metrics. Your responsibilities will also include preparing and reviewing budget materials, analyzing emerging financial trends within the company, and assisting other departments in the preparation of statistical studies. You will compare financial results to planned or forecasted outcomes, explaining variances and providing recommendations for future actions. Additionally, you will analyze the ongoing profitability of all new businesses and programs initiated by the company. As a technical liaison, you will work closely with accounting staff and other departments, providing financial planning expertise, financial information, modeling, activity analysis, and variance analysis. Your leadership will extend to supervising, coaching, and developing senior Financial Analysts, prioritizing their workflow to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. You will also perform critiques of economic evaluation justifications for capital expenditures and interact with other Finance team members, sales, and call center management to prepare and submit forecasts and reports, including project costing and business unit Profit & Loss presentations. This role will also involve supporting the Cable Sustainability reporting and MACC process, where familiarity with energy and GHG emissions is beneficial but not mandatory. An understanding of Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions is also helpful, and any interest in sustainability alongside traditional FP&A functions is desired. You will be expected to consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters, ensuring regular, punctual attendance and the ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
