About the position

The Sr. Manager of Business Unit Operations and Strategy at GlobalFoundries is a pivotal role that involves managing a high-performing team dedicated to achieving the company's business objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of complex, technical planning processes that span both current and long-range strategies for the enterprise. The successful candidate will provide guidance to various business units and end-markets by aligning business objectives with planned initiatives, market insights, and customer needs. Collaboration is key, as the role involves working closely with the capacity planning team, R&D strategy team, and Market Intelligence team to evaluate investments for optimal returns. In this role, the manager will oversee multiple independent workstreams within broader projects or initiatives, ensuring that teams are structured to analyze ambiguous problems and datasets effectively. The ability to create actionable insights through statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and pattern recognition is essential. The manager will also be responsible for data preparation, modeling, and visualization to support decision-making processes. Effective communication and presentation of findings to business leaders are critical to driving actions and achieving desired business outcomes. Additionally, the role emphasizes the importance of safety and compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, ensuring that all activities are performed responsibly. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to navigate the complexities of the semiconductor industry and drive the company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-performing team by directing and guiding along a project plan to fulfill initiatives
  • Work directly with Product Business Units counterparts and their leaders on complex and specialized product demand portfolio
  • Utilize professional knowledge of long-range demand planning and growth initiatives, with semiconductor knowledge being a significant advantage
  • Drive multiple, independent workstreams in the context of a broader project or initiative
  • Structure and analyze ambiguous problems and datasets, creating insights and actions to solve them; leverage statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and pattern recognition
  • Create analytics through data preparation, modeling, and visualization
  • Collaboratively work within diverse, cross-functional teams to identify the best solution and mobilize teams to drive necessary actions
  • Effectively communicate and present findings to business leaders and drive actions/business outcomes
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree or higher with experience in the semiconductor industry (engineering or business) or related field
  • Experience - Minimum 3 years in business leadership, analytics-heavy experience or strategy experience; Minimum 2 years in managing high-performing teams
  • Skills - Communications/Presentations leveraging Microsoft Office products, knowledge of statistics, and other data analytics
  • Project management skills - ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • Fluency in English Language - written & verbal

Nice-to-haves

  • Education - Master's degree or higher in engineering or data science along with MBA or Masters in business management
  • Experience - 5+ years in semiconductor industry specifically in planning, strategy, or analytics
  • Skills - Fluency with Microsoft PowerBI, Anaplan
