The Sr. Manager will provide essential guidance to site Engineering Managers during the prioritization process of Capital Projects, ensuring that each proposed project aligns with the overall capital budget. In addition to project management, the Sr. Manager will play a pivotal role in the preparation and development of the Nitrogen Capital budget for senior management. This includes the preparation of monthly forecasts that reflect the current status and future projections of capital expenditures. The role also involves reviewing and preparing board materials and presentations, which are crucial for communicating project statuses and financial implications to senior leadership. The Sr. Manager will collaborate closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee major capital and special projects, which can range from $5 million to $500 million. This oversight is vital to ensure that these projects are completed successfully and within budget. Monthly capital meetings will be scheduled and led by the Sr. Manager, where proposed capital projects will be evaluated, project priorities assigned, and approvals granted. A key aspect of this role is the identification, evaluation, and implementation of opportunities to enhance profitability. The Sr. Manager will take the lead in ensuring that sites are making progress on their projects and annual capital spending, while also interfacing with senior management to keep them informed of developments. Financial modeling on opportunity projects will be performed, and input will be provided into financial models for large investment projects. Furthermore, the Sr. Manager will work with IT and vendors to implement necessary systems changes to SAP and Oracle, or potentially a new software platform, to improve business processes. Interaction with various departments, including Audit, Financial Planning and Analysis (F&PA), Technical, PMO, Sales, and Marketing, will also be a significant part of this role.
