About the position

As a Lead Data Solutions Engineer at Pfizer, you will play a crucial role in implementing innovative technology solutions that enhance the company's digital and data-first strategy. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and managing R&D data solutions that drive business outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with various teams to deliver scalable data architectures and analytics solutions. This position requires advanced knowledge in data engineering and the ability to lead complex projects while influencing teams to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, lead, and deliver projects that incorporate standards for data lakes, analytical reporting, and web-based analytics solutions.
  • Partner with other Pfizer Digital teams to define and execute technology-focused Proof of Concepts (POCs) using innovative technologies.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to prioritize business requirements and identify opportunities for technical synergy.
  • Develop technical solutions aligned with business requirements across the Pfizer AIDA R&D organization.
  • Collaborate with Platform teams for platform and infrastructure enablement, including architecture and technical solution design.
  • Partner with the AIDA solutions architecture team to ensure long-term viability of solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Pfizer software development lifecycle standards.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data architectures.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems.
  • Design and manage ETL processes to support data integration and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of experience with data or software engineering
  • Demonstrated success embedding algorithms in production applications
  • Proven knowledge and experience managing pharmaceutical clinical and scientific data
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using analytical tools
  • Proven experience engineering end-to-end data solutions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree
  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Graduate degree in a technical or management discipline
  • Management consultant experience
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within Research and Development
