About the position

The Director, Project Management is responsible for leading the project management function within the Autoimmunity business line, overseeing product-related projects and ensuring effective project management methodologies are utilized. This role involves monitoring project performance, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements. The Director also participates in strategic planning and provides leadership to the project management team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general oversight and leadership to all product development projects.
  • Ensure each project is staffed with a capable project manager to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide direction to the Principal Project Integrator regarding project management methodology goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the portfolio of product development projects to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Work with the Principal Project Integrator to improve project management methodologies continuously.
  • Review project plans and status to ensure best practices in project management are applied.
  • Participate in long-range company planning concerning technological research and advancements.
  • Originate major new ideas for company projects and programs.
  • Review project risk drivers and actions to identify trends and implement changes to reduce project risk.
  • Ensure compliance with Design Control practices and maintain accurate project files.
  • Provide plans and status updates concerning product development projects to the business management team.
  • Participate with other executives to optimize resource allocation among competing business needs.
  • Prepare and manage department budgets.
  • Regularly interact with executive management, customers, and regulatory agencies regarding program status and strategic planning.
  • Lead and manage the project management team, including hiring and developing a high-performance team.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in a technical or management discipline; MS/MBA preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the complete product lifecycle, including product development from conception to manufacturing introduction.
  • Fifteen years of product development experience, including eight years in technical leadership, project coordination, or project management.
  • Experience in the development and release of at least one successful medical device product launch.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional coursework in accounting, business economics, resource management, and project management is desired.
