About the position

The Senior HR Manager, Employee Labor Relations and OPS at Good Samaritan Hospital is responsible for managing and providing leadership on all employee and labor relations matters. This role collaborates with HR team members to address issues impacting all facilities within the Charity Health System, ensuring effective communication and resolution between management and union leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support and leadership to all levels of the Management team on employee/labor relations issues.
  • Facilitates and mediates discussions between Management and union leadership to reach mutual agreements.
  • Participates in Union/Management meetings including Labor Management and Staffing Guidelines.
  • Delivers education to Management on union contract provisions and legal topics such as Wage and Hour Law.
  • Administers hearings and adjudicates third step grievances, representing the Hospital at arbitrations and related proceedings.
  • Investigates and prepares responses to mandatory overtime complaints.
  • Participates in local labor contract negotiations at Good Samaritan Hospital.
  • Guides Management on addressing employee performance issues through corrective action processes.
  • Supervises investigations regarding complaints of discrimination or harassment.
  • Assists employees with HR-related matters and troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight to ten years of experience in labor relations.
  • Experience working with unions in a hospital setting is required.
  • Master's degree in human resource management, Industrial Relations, or a related field is required.
  • SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
