About the position

The Sr. Manager, Energy Purchasing will lead the strategic functions related to energy management, renewables, energy security, and decarbonization in North America. This role involves overseeing energy purchasing operations, managing contracts, pricing strategies, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies. The position is pivotal in driving the company's energy initiatives and will report directly to the Director of Purchasing Energy.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic Energy Purchasing functions and contracts.
• Manage pricing strategies for energy procurement.
• Oversee decarbonization initiatives related to energy.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies in energy management.
• Conduct energy market analysis and financial hedging activities.
• Manage vendor performance and compliance in energy purchasing.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding of energy vendors.
• Analyze and source emerging energy technologies.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Engineering, Energy, Business or related field.
• 7-10+ years of experience in the energy sector or adjacent sector, specifically in energy supply purchasing and contracting.
• Experience in Solar/Renewables/Distributed Generation Contracting.
• Proficiency in Energy Market Analysis, Modeling, & Techno-Economic Analysis (PowerBI is a plus).
• Experience in Financial Hedging and VPPA Contracting & Economic Modeling.
• Knowledge of REC Purchasing and Energy Budgeting.
• Experience in Energy Management & Decarbonization.
• Strong skills in Energy Vendor Management.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications such as AEE Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP) or AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
