About the position

The Sr. Manager, Energy Purchasing will lead the strategic functions related to energy management, renewables, energy security, and decarbonization within the North American region. This role involves overseeing energy purchasing functions, managing contracts, pricing strategies, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies. The position is pivotal in driving the company's energy initiatives and will report directly to the Director of Purchasing Energy.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic Energy Purchasing functions and contracts.
• Manage pricing strategies for energy procurement.
• Oversee decarbonization initiatives related to energy.
• Conduct energy market analysis and financial hedging.
• Manage vendor performance and compliance in energy purchasing.
• Oversee the onboarding and offboarding of energy vendors.
• Implement energy usage and price reduction strategies.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Engineering, Energy, Business or related field required.
• 7-10+ years experience in the energy sector or adjacent sector, specifically in energy supply purchasing and contracting.
• Experience in Solar/Renewables/Distributed Generation Contracting.
• Proficiency in Energy Market Analysis, Modeling, & Techno-Economic Analysis (PowerBI a plus).
• Experience in Financial Hedging and VPPA Contracting & Economic Modeling.
• Knowledge of REC Purchasing and Energy Budgeting.
• Experience in Energy Management & Decarbonization.
• Strong skills in Energy Vendor Management.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications such as AEE Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP) or AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM) are preferred.
