About the position

The Senior Manager Engineering at Elbit Systems of America is responsible for overseeing the engineering department to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet customer needs. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve departmental goals while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and uses resources required for accomplishing work as assigned by the Director of the assigned unit.
• Seeks to perform departmental tasks in a cost-efficient manner, identifying ways to produce the same level and quality of product or service while utilizing fewer resources.
• Leads the preparation of accurate cost estimates and budget justifications for the department.
• Directs staff planning to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet departmental goals.
• Assesses and verifies candidate qualifications for hiring and promotions.
• Utilizes conflict resolution to promote learning and team cooperation.
• Builds mutual trust and respect among work group leaders to enhance team cohesion.
• Delegates tasks effectively to meet organizational goals within established timelines.
• Explains job duties and responsibilities clearly to managers and supervisors.
• Develops team members through mentoring and coaching.

Requirements

• Advanced technical degree preferred (PhD, Masters)
• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering or Science
• 10+ years of experience leading an engineering development organization
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing/processing, fab, design, etc.
• Defense industry experience preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
