About the position

The Sr. Manager, Area Engineering at UGI Utilities, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the pipeline and facility assets within a designated service area. This role involves strategic planning and implementation of projects related to the distribution and transmission systems, ensuring compliance with safety policies, managing engineering personnel, and coordinating with various stakeholders to meet company goals and project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the pipeline and facility assets of the assigned service area.
• Direct the design, permitting, and approval of Replacement & Betterment (R&B) projects.
• Manage R&B and Removal & Salvage (R&S) work to meet budgetary constraints.
• Track project status, forecast costs, and manage financial commitments proactively.
• Develop and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
• Review regulator station set points and capacities, and monitor system performance.
• Provide DIMP Risk review and support special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
• PA Professional Engineer License.
• Proficient problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree in Engineering is highly desired but not required.
• Proficient drawing and drafting skills related to Natural Gas construction.
