About the position

The Sr Manager, Enterprise Architect at Capital One is responsible for providing technical leadership in designing and implementing technology solutions for the Card Partnerships segment. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create architecture across multiple platforms, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results while managing technical conflicts and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead solutions architecture design for multi-platform/cross-platform solutions
• Conduct trade-off and impact analysis for technical decisions
• Demonstrate thought leadership and strategy in partnership with delivery and product partners
• Represent solutions in Architecture Review Boards and various discussions
• Present work products and strategies to product managers and technology leadership
• Act as a primary architecture point of contact for other teams
• Continuously learn as technology needs evolve

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 8 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design
• At least 2 years of experience creating solutions architectures in a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 3 years of people management experience

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
• 4+ years of people management experience
• 9+ years of experience in software engineering
• 7+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect in large/complex organizations
• 10+ years of experience architecting, designing, and/or delivering scalable systems in a regulated environment
• 4+ years of experience working with internal and external business clients
• 4+ years of experience with AWS concepts and implementations
• Experience mentoring software engineers or architects
• Experience in a regulated environment (HIPAA, PCI, Privacy, etc)
• AWS or equivalent certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect-Associate, GCP or Azure)
