About the position

The Sr. Manager, Experiential Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing Verisk's experiential marketing strategies. This part-time position requires the individual to be present in the office twice a month at the Jersey City location. The primary focus of this role is to craft compelling brand experiences that resonate with audiences, whether through leading events, conferences, or exploring innovative experiential technologies that drive business value. The individual will collaborate closely with a team of event coordinators, product marketers, and strategy team members to bring the Verisk experience to life, ensuring that all efforts align with the company's marketing strategies. In this role, the Sr. Manager will develop a comprehensive experiential strategy aimed at enhancing awareness of Verisk's expertise and innovative capabilities. This includes managing a global events calendar that encompasses industry sponsorships, hosted events, and employee gatherings. The individual will also prioritize strategic investments in experiences that align with Verisk's marketing goals, while maintaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and the company's various product lines. The position requires a hands-on approach, balancing marketing, business, and leadership competencies. The ideal candidate will possess a data-driven mindset, leveraging analytics to inform decision-making and demonstrate ROI. They will also be responsible for defining and communicating key marketing experiential processes, driving improvements in event efficiency and quality, and influencing internal events that foster Verisk's culture. The Sr. Manager will report directly to the Sr. Director of Experiential Marketing and will be expected to lead a high-performance team, ensuring successful execution of all event-related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop forward-looking end-to-end experiential strategy designed to boost awareness of Verisk's expertise, proprietary data, and track record of innovation
  • Drive creative and brand strategy and operations that result in compelling experiences that inspire audiences to connect, learn and collaborate
  • Deliver an enterprise-wide global events calendar including industry (sponsorship), hosted, and employee events
  • Prioritize (and influence business unit) strategic investments in building experiences that align with Verisk marketing strategies
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Verisk's industries including competitive landscape (and their experiential strategies), businesses, product lines and value propositions
  • Provide leadership in defining, documenting, and communicating key marketing experiential processes, continually working to simplify systems and processes
  • Leverage data to drive decision-making and ROI
  • Identify new experiences opportunities aligned with Verisk's brand values and customer audiences, as well as recommendations on what experiences to sunset
  • Translate the events strategy into a corporate marketing experiential plan that encompasses awareness, education and evangelism across Verisk's prospect and customer base
  • Articulate the role and goal of digital and in-person experiences
  • Deliver and drive process improvements that improve event efficiency and quality
  • Influence approach to internal events that expand to encompass experiences that build Verisk's culture

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in events, marketing, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent in work experience
  • 7+ years of corporate events experience
  • Expert-level delivery and knowledge of best practices related to global event strategy, design and execution
  • Proven success leading all aspects of events strategy and operations for global organizations
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging meeting technologies to produce high-quality, customer-centric experiences
  • Skilled communicator effective at all levels of the organization
  • Data-driven mindset with excellent data-first skills across tracking, measurement and analytics
  • Experience building and monitoring dashboards that demonstrate ROI and business impact
  • Leader of high-performance teams, capable of inspiring and mentoring direct reports
  • Skilled leader of third-party partners with expertise negotiating vendor contracts for all aspects of exhibits, travel management and meeting planning
  • Ability to travel (up to 30%) and work overtime and irregular hours as needed
