About the position

The Director of Finance, FP&A at Aqua-Aston Hospitality plays a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis team, responsible for developing and maintaining financial tools that support business strategies. This position involves monitoring market trends, conducting financial analyses, and presenting insights to senior leaders to drive business success.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and perform ad-hoc financial analyses in response to inquiries from internal and external parties.
  • Manage the Aqua Aston budget system build-out, training, and ongoing management.
  • Build and maintain financial models using Excel and Business Intelligence Tools to identify financial risks and opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analyses, deriving insights and determining trends and projections.
  • Prepare and circulate executive financial dashboards to senior leaders, providing insights on hotel performance versus targets.
  • Perform financial analyses and prepare reports and presentations for senior leaders on a regular basis.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support data-based decision making.
  • Support the development and implementation of three-year asset management plans.
  • Perform competitive analyses focused on AAH's condo hotel portfolio.
  • Assist with the preparation of AAH's annual budget process and monthly forecasts, including variance analyses.
  • Provide guidance to Directors of Finance in preparing hotel-level budgets and forecasts.
  • Act as an internal FP&A consultant to site General Managers and corporate teams.
  • Assist in preparation of proformas and business plan modifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience required.
  • MBA in Finance preferred.
  • At least 10 years of overall finance experience in FP&A, asset management, or operational finance in hospitality.
  • At least three years of experience managing a team.
  • Critical experience in financial systems and business intelligence.
  • Experience in hotel management or hospitality preferred.
  • Experience in a global, matrix-structured organization preferred.

  • Experience in a culturally diverse work environment.
  • Advanced PC skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to think critically and apply analytical skills.
