About the position

The Data Visualization Manager at EssilorLuxottica will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions across various departments including Management, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Operations. This position requires a deep understanding of data visualization techniques and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams to meet business needs. The manager will be responsible for designing strategies for database systems, setting operational standards, and ensuring the security of data processes. As the Subject Matter Expert for the Qlik Sense Enterprise Data Visualization platform, the manager will architect the platform and integrate new and existing information systems to enhance reporting capabilities. This role involves building strong relationships with Business Unit Leaders to translate their requirements into effective software reporting applications, KPIs, and interactive dashboards. The manager will lead the entire Qlik dashboard development life cycle, from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design, implementation, code review, and support. Additionally, the Data Visualization Manager will coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, define maintenance requirements for Qlik, and communicate progress updates to stakeholders. The role also includes providing sales analysis to over 200 Sales representatives and customized reporting to Senior Management to support ongoing business decisions. Participation in the Data Governance Council to review data quality standards and present risks and opportunities is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design strategies for database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security.
  • Architect the Qlik Sense Enterprise Data Visualization platform and act as the Subject Matter Expert.
  • Integrate new and existing information systems to connect to the Qlik Sense reporting platform for reporting, data analysis, and data modeling.
  • Build strong relationships with Business Unit Leaders to translate business requirements into software reporting applications, KPIs, and interactive dashboards.
  • Lead the Qlik dashboard development life cycle from kickoff through requirements analysis, design, implementation, code review, and support.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with key reporting stakeholders and develop a plan to address issues and change requests.
  • Define Qlik maintenance requirements to ensure data and processes remain up to date and communicate progress updates.
  • Utilize strong Qlik Sense and SQL scripting skills to write incremental data load queries and automate ETL tasks.
  • Provide sales analysis via Qlik Sense reports to 200+ Sales representatives and assess performance against Regional Goals.
  • Provide customized reporting and recommendations to Senior Management to support ongoing business decisions.
  • Participate in the Data Governance Council to review proposed changes to data quality standards and present risks and opportunities.
  • Build templates and components for use across multiple Qlik applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics or Finance.
  • 8+ years' experience in a similar analytical role - Business Intelligence and sales analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in database tools and Qlik Sense Data analytics.
  • 3 years of scripting and data modeling experience using Qlik Sense Enterprise Solution.
  • 7+ years of experience with database scripting and querying tools: Oracle SQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience in manipulating multiple, complex and large data sources.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong IT project management, business writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets to solve business problems and create data models, visualizations, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
  • Strong modeling techniques and analytical ability to adapt to new systems and applications.
