About the position

The ESG Finance Reporting Leader at Transamerica will serve as the central point of contact for all ESG reporting, ensuring that each relevant department has clear deliverables and a structured plan for success. This role involves collaborating with various departments to establish accountability and oversight for ESG reporting requirements, while also advocating for functional area needs and aligning departmental leaders for best practices and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Roll out comprehensive, structured & coordinated ESG Reporting Program within TA Financial Reporting.
  • Identify an ESG reporting ‘owner' for each department and provide support to ensure accountability.
  • Ensure business departments understand reporting requirements and have sufficient processes and controls in place.
  • Understand reporting templates, data elements, relevant data sources, external due dates, and project plans for each department.
  • Partner with functional area leaders to assess status and risks of each functional area.
  • Identify and advocate for functional area needs, including changes in roles and project plans.
  • Liaise with governing bodies and stakeholders to ensure alignment on ESG reporting.
  • Align departmental leaders for best-practice sharing and consistency in standards.
  • Oversee GIRT functions, including global asset reporting and expected credit loss processes.
  • Manage direct reports and provide feedback related to departmental vision and strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Ten years of financial analysis experience in the insurance, financial services, or investment management industry.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting/finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to communicate on macro-level business and legislative issues.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel, and financial business systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA or advanced degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of assigned business area (e.g., investments, premiums, IFRS, Statutory Accounting).
  • Experience in financial reporting policy interpretation.
  • Experience in financial reporting process design and change implementation.
  • Knowledge of documentation of process risks and controls.
  • Project Management experience.
