About the position

The Sr. Manager, Finance at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing guidance on financial reporting. This role involves preparing pricing estimates, managing budgets, and leading a team to support the financial objectives of the business unit. The position requires a strong leader who can navigate complex financial landscapes and support the mission of the company effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily financial activities and functions for the organization including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury.
• Ensures all financial operations are in compliance with governmental rules and regulations.
• Forecasts and manages cash flow to meet the needs of the company.
• Provides guidance to managers in financial reporting objectives and standards to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
• Oversees the budget process and collaborates with managers to produce and manage effective budgets.
• Acts as an advisor to management on regulations and financial matters, engaging with outside consultants as necessary.
• Leads and directs the work of other employees, with responsibilities for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• 7-8 years of experience in finance or related fields.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• MBA highly desired
• Accounting/cost estimating work experience related to program control, program finance/accounting and/or pricing of government contracts
• Proficient in ProPricer
• Integrated Program Manager (IPM)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
• Knowledge of financial management principles, program planning, Earned Value (EV) reporting for government contracts, budgeting and practices.
