About the position

The Sr. Manager, Global Clinical Technology Product Owner at Boston Scientific is responsible for leading the Patient and Site Centric Applications space across all clinical divisions and regions. This role involves establishing a clinical technology roadmap, articulating product vision and strategy, managing product backlogs, and overseeing the implementation of enterprise application platforms and solutions. The position requires collaboration with functional leaders and regional teams to ensure alignment with business requirements and continuous improvement in clinical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes overall clinical technology roadmap with prioritization of product needs within and across product categories.
  • Articulates Patient and Site Centric Product Vision and Strategy to the team, stakeholders, and external parties, translating this into an actionable plan.
  • Owns the collection of all business requirements into one consolidated, agreed upon list.
  • Manages the product backlog and utilizes agreed prioritization approach to develop long-term activity roadmaps.
  • Ongoing focus of continuous improvement through product, services, and processes.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost avoidance/savings through product and process improvements.
  • Supports investigating new technologies for improving patient experience and efficiently running clinical trials.
  • Involved in product releases and impact assessment along with product team.
  • Oversees the upkeep of the Patient and Site Centric Systems (Medidata Rave, Coder, MMI, Grants Manager, eConsent, eCOA); understands and anticipates divisional needs to effectively manage the configuration and implementation process.
  • Primary communication and link between GCO, IT, divisions and stakeholders.
  • Engages with regional teams to understand their business requirements and ensures they are included in implementation strategies for expanded functionality.
  • Responsible for the final product of the development process; includes inspecting and evaluating progress through each phase.
  • Identifies strategic platforms and/or processes that allow BSC to get the most value across a variety of needs.
  • Manages team of clinical product owners and oversees execution of product category strategies according to plan and budget.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • A minimum of 10 years leadership experience in clinical/scientific research and medical device experience.
  • Effective collaboration and communication style.

  • Prior product owner experience.
  • Leads through partnership with authentic and servant leadership principles.
  • Experience working with clinical electronic data capture systems/technologies related processes.
  • Experience presenting to and collaborating with all levels of management.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment.
