About the position

As the Sr. HR Manager at E&J Gallo, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Distributor Operations and Sales organization for New Jersey. This position requires you to provide comprehensive HR guidance and support across various business functions, which include both hourly union employees and senior leadership. You will oversee the implementation of HR programs and projects, ensuring that the assigned client groups receive the strategic support necessary for efficient and effective operations. Your responsibilities will include managing the Human Resource Planning process, which involves identifying employees for development and providing HR services tailored for senior-level employees, including senior directors and vice presidents. In this role, you will partner with the leadership team of the client group to assess organizational effectiveness in areas such as leadership, communication, and organizational design. As a senior leadership team member, you will collaborate with business leadership to develop functional objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSMs) that align with the overall business strategy. You will leverage your expert knowledge to develop and implement solutions that address the needs and issues of both internal and external partners, particularly in the realms of organizational design, leadership development, performance management, talent management, and Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP). Additionally, you will manage union contracts, which involves gathering input from internal HR experts, preparing negotiating authority, and liaising with outside counsel on non-economic terms. You will act independently at the bargaining table, working closely with finance and union staff to achieve a ratified contract. Your support will extend to employees across multiple satellite locations and field-based operations. You will also be responsible for the Gallo Sales Leadership Development Program, which includes identifying, recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing employees, as well as managing their career planning and winery rotations. Leading a team of HR professionals, you will ensure that day-to-day HR operational needs are met, including compliance, employee relations, recruiting, and training and development. You will maintain HR plans and oversee the development and facilitation of career planning and capability development for client employees and managers. Furthermore, you will manage functional succession planning, ensuring its integration into performance management and staffing decisions. Your role will also involve recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvements in departmental efficiency and service delivery.
