About the position

The Senior Manager, Incentive Compensation Risk Analyst at CIBC is responsible for overseeing risk analysis and integration related to incentive compensation within the US Operational Risk Management framework. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including Human Resources, to analyze risk data, support annual risk reviews, and prepare detailed reports on risk analysis activities. The position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing the overall risk management practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze risk data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for compensation adjustments.
  • Support the annual risk review by gathering and analyzing necessary artifacts.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to gather and analyze relevant data.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to US Operational Risk Management leadership.
  • Prepare detailed reports on risk analysis activities.
  • Assist in the development and sustainment of procedures.
  • Support the execution of risk input into incentive compensation responsibilities.
  • Assess the Combined US Operations incentive compensation practices against industry and US regulatory guidance.
  • Support the development, review, and maintenance of applicable policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor the regulatory, business, and competitive environment to ensure compliance with changes and emerging practices.
  • Support the development of materials for governance forums and respond to action items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 3 - 5 years industry-related experience; strong understanding of the US Banking Industry
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and their application to incentive compensation
  • Excellent leadership and business planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent relationship building skills to establish key relationships within lines of business and other business partners
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Problem-solving skills sufficient to creatively develop unique approaches and solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in operational risk management
  • Familiarity with incentive compensation structures
  • Knowledge of CIBC lines of business and support functions across the Combined US Operations.
