The Sr. Manager, IT position is a critical role responsible for the management, strategy, and execution of technical systems and infrastructure within the organization. This individual will oversee application development projects and operational support teams across multiple business divisions, ensuring that the IT department aligns with the overall business strategy. The role requires the establishment of systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management, as well as the analysis of business requirements to determine technology needs. In this position, the Sr. Manager will lead and direct the staff of various departments including Applications Development, IT Operations, Database, Reporting, Web, and Business Intelligence (BI). Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, analysis, development, and design of new technology needs. The individual will work closely with the Sr. Director to manage IT staffing, budgeting, and technology requirements effectively. The role also involves overseeing the daily activities of the technical teams, conducting performance appraisals, and making staffing recommendations. The Sr. Manager will communicate company and departmental plans to subordinates and ensure the day-to-day technical management of IT staff and systems, which includes file transfer, database, and reporting systems. Additionally, the individual will serve as an IT liaison for third-party vendors and will be responsible for building IT systems that are future-proof, stable, and scalable. This includes procurement, creating standards for software development, and developing a sound internal and external services framework. The Sr. Manager will be a decision-maker regarding IT equipment purchasing and will coordinate and manage technical projects, including timelines and expectations with senior leadership and key stakeholders. The role requires analyzing and recommending solutions involving legacy systems to enhance end-user productivity and reduce costs, while interfacing with a diverse user community and external vendors. Furthermore, the individual will be responsible for capital and expense budget plans and for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
