About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Manager of Knowledge Management to lead our Knowledge Management Center of Excellence (COE). This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and managing our organization's knowledge management strategy, which is essential for fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that information and expertise are effectively utilized to drive innovation, simplify processes, improve decision-making, and enhance operational efficiencies. This position requires in-person attendance at our Dallas, Texas office located at 1919 McKinney Ave. The Sr. Manager will work closely with key stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for improvement in knowledge sharing processes. They will implement systems and processes to capture, organize, and store knowledge assets, including documents, data, best practices, and lessons learned. The role also involves promoting a culture of knowledge sharing across departments, facilitating the creation of communities of practice, and developing training programs to enhance employees' skills in knowledge management practices. Additionally, the Sr. Manager will evaluate and implement knowledge management technologies that support collaboration and information retrieval, while establishing metrics to measure the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives. Change management efforts related to knowledge management will also be a key responsibility, requiring collaboration with senior leadership to secure buy-in and support for these initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate a comprehensive knowledge management strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Identify key stakeholders and collaborate with them to define KM priorities and initiatives as part of the COE.
  • Identify key knowledge gaps and opportunities for improvement in knowledge sharing processes.
  • Implement systems and processes to capture, organize, and store knowledge assets, including documents, data, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Establish and maintain taxonomies, metadata standards, and search capabilities to ensure information is easily accessible and retrievable.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration across departments and teams.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of communities of practice and other platforms for sharing expertise and insights.
  • Develop training programs and initiatives to enhance employees' skills in knowledge management practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on knowledge sharing tools and methodologies.
  • Evaluate and implement knowledge management technologies and tools that support collaboration, content management, and information retrieval across all departments.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in knowledge management and recommend innovations to enhance organizational knowledge capabilities.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives.
  • Conduct regular assessments and reviews to identify areas for improvement and optimize knowledge management processes.
  • Lead change management efforts related to knowledge management initiatives across Frontier.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to secure buy-in and support for knowledge management strategies and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to KM team members and stakeholders, promoting a shared understanding of KM goals and objectives.
  • Champion the value of knowledge management across the organization, demonstrating tangible benefits and ROI.

Requirements

  • Degree in Knowledge Management, Information Science, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a knowledge management leadership role, preferably in a large organization or across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of knowledge management principles, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
