About the position

The Sr. Manager of Marketing Program Management & Operations at Abbott will play a crucial role in scaling the marketing organization for Lingo, Abbott's innovative consumer biowearables division. This position is designed for a marketing operations leader who will enhance team collaboration and operational efficiency to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business. The successful candidate will oversee various aspects of marketing operations, including agency relations, resource management, and the creative review process, ensuring that the marketing team can deliver high-quality work on time and within budget. In this role, the manager will be responsible for overseeing vendor and agency relations, which includes onboarding, contracting, and payments. This will involve close collaboration with key stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, and Legal to establish effective processes and best practices. Additionally, the manager will handle marketing budget management, coordinating with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and other leads to facilitate budget allocation and ensure adherence to financial plans. The position also requires operationalizing and streamlining the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes. This includes building a team to alleviate the workload on marketers and collaborating with stakeholders to find efficient solutions. The manager will develop and implement operational processes that enhance overall workflows, improve efficiency, and increase collaboration within the marketing organization. Cross-functional collaboration is a key aspect of this role, as the manager will need to foster effective communication between marketing and other key functions such as Product, Commerce, Legal, Medical Affairs, Procurement, and Finance. The manager will also coordinate cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment and successful execution of strategic objectives while building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee vendor/agency relations, including onboarding, contracting, and payments.
  • Manage the marketing budget, coordinating with the CMO and Leads for resource allocation and adherence.
  • Streamline the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and implement operational processes to improve overall workflows and collaboration within the marketing organization.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication between marketing and key functions across the organization.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects and initiatives to ensure alignment and successful execution of strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible marketing experience.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
