About the position

The Sr Manager Materials Master Data at Freeman is responsible for overseeing the business process of setting up and maintaining material master data. This role involves daily creation and mass updates of data, driving improvements in processes, and ensuring data governance and quality across multiple systems. The position supports the Data Operations team and requires a strong aptitude for managing data intricacies during a multi-year transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute daily operations of material master data, including creation and mass maintenance.
  • Develop, improve, and modify Master Data Management (MDM) processes for data standardization and information management.
  • Create and update training documents, SOPs, and business processes related to master data management.
  • Develop processes to enhance material master data governance and quality for internal teams and vendor management.
  • Monitor data creation and updates, ensuring compliance with established processes.
  • Support cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives as the MDM expert.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely execution of all data requests for creation and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues to maintain integrity of master data elements.
  • Lead audits of master data in ERP systems for compliance with standards and policies.
  • Interact and present to business and technology leaders regarding material data impacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Information Management preferred.
  • Experience with ERP interaction and master data management is preferred, but analytical skills are also considered.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot tables, v-lookups, and VBA scripting.
  • Experience with Master Data Management, Data Systems, and Data Warehousing.
  • Cross-functional business knowledge in Supply Chain, Production, Finance, and Sales.
  • Ability to partner with stakeholders to source required master data.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in project planning and coordination.
  • Strong technical, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage, train, and coach team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in data governance and quality improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with vendor relationship management and corrective action support.
