The Sr Accounting Manager of Ticket Revenue will play a pivotal role in overseeing the revenue recognition accounting operations for the company. This position is crucial for controlling, balancing, and verifying all company revenue and related transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and approving reconciliations of all revenue account balances, ensuring that revenue transactions, including related cost of sale transactions such as ticketing for cruise lines, are validated. The role requires a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and ensuring that all related transactions are accurately posted by the appropriate revenue systems. This includes the preparation of month-end flash reports and dashboards, as well as managing close procedures effectively. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills combined with a comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, enabling them to analyze financial reports and forecasts effectively. Utilizing the Workday Accounting System and the ancillary revenue system, Seaware for Cruise Lines, the Sr Accounting Manager will manage a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role demands precision and expertise to maximize efficiency and productivity within the team. Essential responsibilities include overseeing revenue recognition in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards such as ASC 606. The candidate will develop and enhance revenue recognition policies and procedures, review and approve journal entries, and present revenue numbers for month-end close. Additionally, the role involves handling ad-hoc requests with the Accounting System and ancillary revenue software, leveraging SQL for credit card processing and Excel data, and overseeing the preparation of records related to revenue and expense entries. The Sr Accounting Manager will also maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions, and will oversee reconciliations of revenue and related general ledger balances in a timely manner. Furthermore, the candidate will summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing financial reports, and assisting with profit and loss statements and other revenue recognition-related statements. The position also requires overseeing the preparation of all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual dashboard reports outlining both revenues and expenses for various management levels, driving process improvement and data enablement to support timely and accurate financial reporting, and ensuring a strong and sustainable financial control environment that supports business growth.
