The Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's Research Triangle region is home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. The center will also be a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Support IT's strategic vision and translate IT goals into actionable plans and monitor progress, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of key IT strategic initiatives, ensuring they stay on track and deliver expected outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of long-term IT strategies, conducting research and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the IT organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage and track VAW related activities and collaborations.
  • Lead IT related M&A activities, ensuring smooth integration and alignment with the overall IT strategy.
  • Oversee IT headcount planning and organizational design, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide direct support to the CIO on special projects and initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully leading strategic initiatives and driving organizational change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with merger and acquisition integration.
  • Strong understanding of organizational design and headcount management.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of IT and the service catalog and assigned departments/business areas.
  • Strong communication, excellent research skills, and learning agility to understand internal business or IT process, best practices and translate into technology needs/opportunities.
  • Strong work ethic, a sense of business urgency, and ability to work effectively with many deadlines in a complex matrix organization.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills and able to make critical decisions.
