About the position

The Sr. Manager of Data Acquisition & Vendor Management at HireRight is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of strategies and policies related to data acquisition and vendor management. This role focuses on ensuring the efficiency and quality of data sourcing to support the company's enterprise products while managing external vendor relationships and compliance. The position requires strong leadership skills to build a learning organization and achieve data acquisition targets, while also serving as a subject matter expert in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of the department as a strategic business unit.
  • Drive strategic business model initiatives to ensure efficiency in data acquisition, including cost savings and improved quality.
  • Manage external vendors, ensuring compliance and auditing processes are in place.
  • Build a learning organization focused on continuous process improvement.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert, impacting customer and operational objectives.
  • Implement policies for data acquisition to ensure adherence to quality and turnaround time standards.
  • Identify viable data source alternatives to reduce reliance on third-party suppliers.
  • Train and develop the management team in hiring and human resource policies.
  • Own escalation paths to address service level concerns.
  • Achieve data acquisition targets established by executive management.
  • Manage resource conflicts and mediate complex issues involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and assist in identifying new compliance threats.
  • Collaborate with Product/Software Development to improve platform functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven track record in coaching and developing staff.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to form strategic partnerships with senior management.
  • Experience in managing external vendors and employee relations.
  • Good business acumen with knowledge of policies and trends affecting verifications.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop business cases for changes.
  • Above average reasoning ability to assess issues and implement solutions.
  • Critical thinking skills to solve semi-complex problems independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create reports and presentations.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, rapidly changing business environment.
